Scotch 471 Plastic Film Tape

Various coloured (10 colours and transparent) vinyl plastic film with a rubber adhesive designed for colour coding, abrasion protection, decoration, sealin, patching, splicing, wrapping and general purpose applications.

Excellent for lane marking applications and also in use for electroplating (purple) and anodizing where conformability is required.

The pigmented backing keeps its colour even after haevy abrasion. It also resistant to most common solvents.

It is also resistant to most common solvents.

Fore (re-) painting an aircraft a sharp paint edge is frequently required, as in the case of for painting letters, symbols and logos.

For the paint masking operation a tape that provides a fine paint line in exact paint line is required.

Tape 471 can be used for paint masking with high performance requirements: fine line properties, exact paint line separation, high conformability, sharp paint edges, difficult curves or structures and for use with water based paints.

Tape 471 is more conformable for electroplating than tape 470 and 484, because of the thinner backing.

Tape 471 has a highly conformable backing, with dead stretch properties, which allow the tape to be applied to irregular surfaces.

As such it is in use for temporarily surface protection of irregular surfaces.

Purple: For the critical application of electroless nickel-plating tape 471 purple is a product that might work where other tapes fail.

This tape has a different construction from the other vinyl tapes: it has a higher elongation and less dead stretch which permits the tape to be wound tightly around the objects to be plated.
