This is a special plating tape with a thicker plastic backing.

Tape 470 is an electroplating tape with excellent stretch and conformability and is used in anodizing where conformability is required.

The special adhesive permits easy and clean removal even on some of the toughest electroplating/anodizing and masking jobs.

It is a conformable and abrasion resistant vinyl platic tape with excellent resistance to most chemicals used in electroplating and anodizing.

Electroplating tape 470 is also used in acid milling of titanium, for chemical milling on irregular surfaces and performs a very critical job of masking against nitric-hydrofluoric acid solutions at 43°C (110°F).

Tape 470 offers the same general physical characteristics as tape 484, except that it provides greater adhesion.

Tape 470 is also used to protect tape 361, 363 and 5433 against the grit blast surface preparation before the thermal metal spray operations.
