A dead soft aluminium foil backing combined with a transparent acrylic adhesive.
Tape 425 has a U.L. Approval Class ¡§L¡¨ for low flammability.
Can be used indoors or out for long term applications.
It provides good conformability and excellent protection from water, dust, chemical damage and radiation.
Widely used as masking tape for paint stripping.
The aluminium foil tape can be seen at masking sensitive areas as well as splicing and securing gross masking materials such as polyethylene film and aluminised paper.
The aluminium tape is used to seal and protect Plexiglas Windows, parts such as radar equipment covers, antenna covers, wing tips, wheel parts and also to protect access openings, lap joints and exposed sealants.
Properly applied and rubbed down, the malleable aluminium foil backing, with its acrylic adhesive system, provides a solid protective seal against harsh chemical strippers.
For thieving action (reducing of edge build-up) during electroplating on aluminium parts and less critical applications.
Tape 425 is also used for nickel painting operations and on the bottom of the airplane as a trough to let the chemicals flow away during paint stripping.
Another use of tape 425 is for heat reflection, heat dissipation and harness wrapping for temperatures up to 150¢XC (302¢XF).
For duct sealing tape 425 is used as an alternative to tape 474 for higher temperature applications, when a low vapour transmission rate is required.
Tape 425 is well known as a high-speed repair tape for good aerodynamics. |
