Aerospace Tapes --- Scotch 420 Lead Foil Tape (Linered)

A 5 mil lead foil backing combined with a rubber adhesive and a white, easy-release film liner.

Linered tapes have in principle a smoother adhesive coating than non-linered tapes, allowing only a minimum of chemical seepage during anodizing.

Tape 420 is used for smooth mask-off edges during electroplating due to the ability of the backing to conduct electricity.

By squeezing down the edge of the electrical conductive backing you will achieve a contact with the metal part.

Feature of tape 420: malleable (conformable), chemical/moisture resistant, electrically conductive backing, opaque to X-ray.

Most suitable for caustic milling of aluminium.
